I’m a retired Air Force fighter pilot struggling with my golf game and living the dream in Hawaii. Grew up golfing at Fort Benning, GA and attended the Air Force Academy.

Played on the Air Force team but was never any good and barely made traveling squad my junior and senior year.

Flew about 7 or 8 different aircraft in the Air Force and retired in 2015 to become a surf bum.

Played very little golf for over 30 years and just recently picked it back up in earnest about a year ago when my wife and I joined Hoakalei Country Club.

Currently at a 6 to 7 handicap with dreams of getting it down to a 3 or a 4 and then to scratch.

Golf swing is smooth but marred by a slight chicken wing on the down swing. Good drives fly 250, short game and putting are so – so and can’t score to save my life.

Play almost 100% of my golf at Hoakalei because it just doesn’t make sense to pay the dues here and play somewhere else

We also like to think Hoakalei is one of the nicest and most challenging courses on Oahu.

My wife and I play about twice a week during the week and then on Saturday I play with the men’s group.

Join me on my golf vision quest to scratch golf.
