Top 5 Best Men’s Golf Shoes

Purchasing the best men’s golf shoes is about more than simply which ones look the nicest or are the most comfortable. It’s also important how they handle wet tough, and soft ground conditions on the course.

At this point, you’re probably wondering why you didn’t go for something a bit more substantial or sturdy. A stable base is critical for golf throughout your swing, as even a slight shift in your feet may significantly influence the outcome of your shot. The difference between striking your ball on the green or in the drink.

Well, with this review, you won’t make a mistake like most. Golf shoes may be spiked or spikeless. Although spiked golf shoes, as they are still referred to, do not include metal spikes. They were prohibited from the overwhelming majority of golf courses years ago due to the metal spikes leaving scars on the course’s greens.

They’ve been supplanted mainly by hi-tech non-metal, softer cleats or plastic pods as the standard for spiked golf shoes in recent years. And they’re a significant advance over the primary, single spike.

There are many factors to consider when purchasing a pair of golf shoes. Whatever you’re searching for, most companies now provide great golf shoe options, ranging from vibrant athletic styles to more subtle designs.

Almost all include some kind of value-added waterproofing. At the same time, grip and traction are provided by a variety of exclusive innovative designs.

Taking all of this into consideration, I’ve reviewed some of the best men’s golf shoes in 2021 below.

1. Best All-Round: FootJoy Men’s Pro/Sl Carbon Golf Shoes

The Pro/SL was such a successful golf shoe last year that it might have been a stand-alone brand. When FootJoy reinvented the #1 golf shoe, they opted to include a second model, the Pro SL Carbon.

The name refers to the increased stability provided by a carbon fiber inlay incorporated into the midsole. However, that underlines the difference: It’s substantially different from the regular Pro SL.

In summary, FootJoy has taken the world’s most popular spikeless shoe and transformed it into one of the most comfortable golf shoes available due to increased cushioning and stability.

It is not unattractive in any way – in fact, FootJoy Pro/SL continues to be one of the best attractive golf shoes on the market.

It has a superb grip thanks to the high contact points with the ground. Even in wet circumstances, you may pursue your drives without danger of sliding or excessive movement.

The Pro/SL Carbon is significantly rigid in all directions, making it perfect for golfers with hyperactive lower halves who need more stability throughout their swing.

What I Like:

  • Exceptional all-round performance
  • Very clean and classic
  • Feels very good out of the box
  • Comfortable provides more incredible grip and enhanced stability
  • Expanded range of features and capabilities

What I Don’t Like:

  • The carbon model makes the regular FootJoy Pro/SL superfluous

2. Best for modern styling: Adidas Men’s Codechaos Golf Shoe

The new Adidas Men’s Codechaos Golf Shoe is, without a doubt, one of the most visually appealing sneakers released in 2019. As the name implies, the shoe was purposefully intended to be unlike anything else on the market, redefining what a golf shoe may look like.

The Codechaos continue to raise the bar for what is achievable on the golf course with athletic-inspired designs, unparalleled comfort, and flexible traction.

A lot is going on visually, but Adidas has done a brilliant job with the design. The top is constructed with several mesh layers, which makes it lightweight, flexible, and breathable. Additionally, it has a thin layer that offers waterproof protection, resilience and repels water and dirt, making it stain-resistant and easy to clean.

The midsole includes full-length Boost cushioning, which provides energy return and adds spring to every stride. Further, you’ll note how the rubber wraps around the outsole in three critical places, limiting the Boost’s expansion and providing additional stability.

The grip is exceptional, particularly considering the sole is molded. I would expect nothing short of a design that incorporates so much technology. The twistgrip and Traxion hybrid sole were created in response to studies on how golfers transfer their weight during the swing. They perform an excellent job of stabilizing you.

Of all, a golf shoe must perform not just during the swing but also when walking the better part of five miles depending on how straight you hit it! The Adidas Men’s Codechaos Golf Shoes more than deliver.

What I Like:

  • plenty of bang for the buck
  • Comfortable and offers a good grip on various terrains.
  • Designed to seem athletic

What I Don’t Like:

  • Lucid colors might not work for everyone.

3. Comfort, versatility, and performance: PUMA Ignite Fasten8 Pro Golf Shoe

While preparing to review these men’s golf shoes, it came as a surprise that I had never worn a pair of Puma golf shoes in all of my years walking the court. I’ve always admired their aesthetic and willingness to push the boundaries of design and innovation.

In their product line for 2021, Puma introduces the upgraded Ignite PWRADAPT models and the all-new Ignite Fasten8 Pro spikeless golf shoes. The Ignite Fasten8 Pro is one of the best men’s golf shoes I’ve reviewed. Each new shoe release from Puma seems to be more technological improvements, and the Ignite Fasten8 is no exception.

According to Puma, “the PWRCage’s TPU construction provides unmatched support around the midfoot, while the laces’ integrated webbing straps assist wrap the midfoot for a snug fit.” Together with PWRFrame TPU overlays, the Microfiber top offers a breathable and waterproof 1-year guarantee that will be sure to turn your attention.

According to Puma, “The TPU structure of the PWRCage helps provide unparalleled support around the midfoot while the laces integrated webbing straps help wrap the midfoot for a secure fit. The Microfiber upper combined with PWRFrame TPU overlays provide a breathable and 1-year waterproof warranty that will be sure to turn heads.

The sneakers are based on Puma’s trademark sporty design. These shoes appear elegant and comfy, not rigid like other conventional golf shoes, thanks to a mix of breathable, waterproof mesh and TPU components in the top.

They complement the style of versatility. The Ignite Fasten8 model seems to be a shoe that may be worn off the golf course as well, as it blends nicely into any athletic style.

What I Like:

  • Fully waterproof
  • Extremely comfortable and stylish
  • Delivers true versatility, style, and performance

What I Don’t Like:

  • The sizes are somewhat bigger (you might want to consider dropping down half a size for maximum comfort)

4. Best traditional golf shoe: FootJoy Men’s Premiere Series-Flint Golf Shoe

The response to FootJoy’s three new Premiere Series golf shoes has been nothing short of spectacular on Tour. Perhaps there is a trend toward golfers desiring more traditional-looking golf shoes, and they certainly match that description. The Flint is both refined and elegant, and it definitely appears like a golf shoe influenced by the past.

The Premier Series is dedicated to honoring the FootJoy brand’s history and legacy and includes three distinct shoe styles: Flint, Packard, and Tarlow, all of which are inspired by FootJoy family stories from the past.

In comparison to other traditional men’s golf shoes, the Premiere line stands head and shoulders above the others. These shoes are flawless in every way. Each model has so many intriguing features that they practically beg you to stop and examine them.

Although the FootJoy Premiere seems to be a big, classic golf shoe, I was pleasantly pleased by its lightweight. It’s the ideal option for golfers looking to look their best without sacrificing performance on the field.

Despite the absence of spikes, the Flint provides enough grip due to a Versa-Trax+ Outsole. At the same time, the Ortholite FitBed improves stability and comfort on the inside. The full-grain leather upper is completely waterproof and includes subtle embellishments that contribute to the overall beauty. You will have difficulty finding a shoe that is best suited for use on and off the course.

What I Like:

  • Very high quality in appearance and construction.
  • It’s stylish, stable, and comfortable
  • Easy to keep clean.

What I Don’t Like:

  • The premium price may be a problem for some golfers

5. Best Lightweight Shoe: Adidas Men’s ZG21 Golf Shoe

The Adidas Men’s ZG21 Golf Shoe is a sight to see. It’s a spike that shines not just on the course but also as a fashion item in four stunning colors. Not only did Adidas nail the looks, but they also put a ton of technology into this track’s beauty, making it THE SPIKE for smashing records.

Adidas has listened to the opinions of its tour players: including Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Sergio Garcia, and world number one Dustin Johnson, to develop the ZG21 golf shoe. Apparently, they’ve been communicating with the company about their desire for a lighter, high-performance spiked shoe.

The ZG21 is equipped with Adida’s famous Boost cushioning technology. Still, it is also up to 20% lighter than previous similar spiked versions in their lineup and considerably lighter than many of its competitors’ men’s golf shoes.

It’s meant to be low profile; however, the appearance is a bit bulkier, in my opinion. To be honest, the shoes don’t seem particularly big or puffy, but they definitely don’t have a slim, low profile. If you’re searching for a modest appearance on the golf course with a modern athletic vibe, the Adidas ZG21 is for you.

What I Like:

  • Extremely lightweight and comfortable.
  • An exceptional deal of performance for the price.
  • Feel fantastic and fitted perfectly snug

What I Don’t Like:

  • Foam parts are challenging to keep clean.

Final Thought

Golf shoes are not required for golf; nevertheless, they provide the golfer with a link to the ground during the swing that sports shoes cannot.

Golf shoes are critical for professional golfers, for example, due to their breakneck swing speeds. These golfers must be anchored to the ground to swing freely and at maximum velocity to generate the distance required for their game.

While men’s golf shoes are not required for amateurs, they offer an advantage over sports shoes due to the spikes that assist keep the player grounded while allowing for more outstanding balance throughout the swing.

Finally, although the price difference may be significant, keep in mind that a decent golf shoe can be an excellent investment in a golfer’s performance on the course.
