Best Women’s Irons

Irons continue to make up the majority of the clubs you are expected to carry in your bag. And as a female golfer, it’s critical to choose the best women’s golf irons for your swing.

Most models are designed for slower swing speeds and include a graphite shaft with a ladies’ flex, smaller grips, and a heavier head. This results in increased ball speeds, ease of launch, and more distance.

Oversized cavity-back club heads are ideal for amateurs and players with a mid-high handicap. This is because the broader sole and low center of gravity make it simpler to send the ball airborne with maximum forgiveness.

However, this often comes at the cost of workability and accurate distance control, which is why better players with more consistent swings may choose shallower cavity designs or a combination of both.

Finding the best set of women’s golf irons may be challenging. There are so many alternatives available that it may be challenging to narrow down your choices.

The best irons for women will produce increased ball speed, forgiveness, and launch. Well, below, I have taken a look at some of the best women’s irons currently available.

The Best Women’s Golf Irons

1. Best Irons for Women: TaylorMade SiM 2 Max Iron Set Women’s

TaylorMade is a well-known golf brand. Its 2021 SIM2 Max range combines core innovations from the previous model with an all-new Cap Back cavity. The design result improves distance with more face flex and better sound via a complete redesign of the cavity.

The new Cap Back is a complete cavity encasing polymer cap that links and supports the topline. It resulted in greater MOI by being seven times lighter than steel per g/cm3 and allowing more mass to be placed down in the head to increase stability.

The redesign of the all-new SIM2 Max and Max OS irons set makes golf much simpler for ladies with a mid-high handicap by offering more distance and forgiveness on off-center shots. Each component of the Iron has been optimized for clubhead speed.

The technologies operate in tandem to help ladies hit the ball farther, straighter, and with a more natural sound and feel. A new ECHO Damping system is integrated into the head. It extends from heel to toe, assisting in the reduction of vibrations upon contact.

Not only is the SIM Max one of the best women’s golf irons in 2021, but it also makes my list of the best men’s irons. Given TaylorMade’s current lineup of outstanding models, this is no simple task.

What I Link

  • Consistently lofted and accurate shots
  • Exceptional sound and feel.
  • Low gravitational center
  • Thin face for increased distance

What I Don’t Link

  • Minor improvements over the previous model

 2. Best all-round irons: Callaway Golf Women’s Mavrik Max Iron Set

I always prefer to come up with a clear winner whenever I come up with my reviews. It’s worth noting that the Mavrik comes in second place to the SIM Max. Some may disagree, but the SIM Max’s feel is so close to being forged that it had to earn a place at the top of this review.

For the first time, Callaway utilized artificial intelligence to individually design each Iron in the Mavrik Max set, enhancing performance. Additionally, they created this set especially for ladies; the days of putting a light shaft in a man’s clubhead are over.

Each Mavrik Max Iron was designed to function, with the center of gravity optimally placed. Callaway has moved it to Iron with the Flash Face technology that Callaway incorporates into its drivers.

This promotes and sustains ball speed, allowing women to effortlessly launch the ball with less spin and eventually play longer, straighter strokes with maximum forgiveness.

The Mavrik Max Iron sounds as solid as it feels due to urethane microspheres that absorb unwanted vibrations. These irons have quickly climbed to the top of the women’s golf irons list based on early feedback.

What I Like:

  • Excellent for swings of all speeds
  • Optimal distance on mishits as well
  • The graphite shaft performs very well.
  • Artificial intelligence-assisted design

What I Don’t Like:

  • Increased offset is not appropriate for everyone.

3. Best alternative: Callaway Big Bertha REVA Women’s Iron Set

Callaway has been a significant player in women’s golf equipment, offering specialized golf clubs and sets that encourage quicker swing speeds and more accessible launches.

REVA is Callaway’s latest range of women’s irons, part of the famous Big Bertha series. The REVA line of clubs has been designed especially for women golfers based on extensive study and testing, including feedback from hundreds of female golfers.

As far as the Big Bertha REVA Irons are concerned: the objective is to assist women golfers in getting the ball airborne with significant precision and distance from any lie using new technology from Big Bertha.

Although the significantly larger sole of these cavity back irons may not appeal to everyone, it’s worth considering functionality over appearance for ladies with a slow to moderate swing speed. The big offset heads can’t help but instill confidence at address.

A substantial amount of tungsten weight has been added to provide a low center of gravity. Callaway also utilized their Artificial Intelligent-designed Flash Face Cup for the first time in a women’s Big Bertha iron to promote and sustain ball speed.

This enables women to launch the ball more effortlessly and with less spin, eventually hitting longer, straighter strokes with maximum forgiveness. Despite the club’s overall low swing weight, the sensation off the clubface was extreme.

Additionally, I found the Big Bertha REVA Irons effortless to send the ball high into the air. Which makes it perfect if you’re looking for more distance and want to eliminate any undesirable slice spin.

What I Like

  • Optimal distance even on mishits.
  • Excellent weight, feel, and sound extremely solid.
  • It creates the feeling that this Iron is going to draw.

4. Most Forgiving Iron in golf: Cobra Golf 2021 Women’s T-Rail 2.0 Combo Irons Set

Cobra Golf has introduced the latest generation of Cobra T-Rail (Transition Rail) irons. Cobra claim to have achieved the “ultimate combination” of distance and forgiveness with the new generation of T-Rail irons.

The clubs have a unique hybrid-iron shape and sophisticated Baffler Rail technology combine with the forgiveness of a Cobra Baffler hybrid and the accuracy of an iron. Cobra was able to create a one-of-a-kind set for anybody looking to enhance their game.

The hollow, broad sole shape combined with an iron face and topline provides up to 70% more flex to the sole directly below the face. These increases launch and ball speed while retaining outstanding turf contact.

The irons utilized a hollow body design throughout to provide the ball hybrid-like launch and distance, allowing the ball to fly quickly into the air. Cobra design the 4-hybrid to assist in mastering gapping between the longer clubs. This makes long approach shots more effortless and more consistent.

Whether you’re starting out or losing some swing speed, just putting the ball in the air elicits a sense of achievement. The Cobra’s women’s T-Rail irons and hybrid provide tons of benefits while also providing forgiveness. Additionally, if you like the icing on the cake, the Cobra Baffler Rails will instill confidence in you to play.

What I Like:

  • Easy to get the ball airborne.
  • A blend of speed, forgiveness, and distance
  • It makes longer approach shots more effortless and more consistent.
  • All of the sounds were moderate loudness and uniform over the face.

What I Don’t Like:

5. Best women’s budget irons: Wilson Staff Launch Pad Golf Iron Set

Wilson developed the new LaunchPad Golf Irons to address the typical traits of players with handicappers. It features hollow heads with wide cambered bottoms that Wilson claims to provide a significant amount of late bounce to prevent the leading edges from sinking into the ground upon contact.

The LaunchPad soles are gradually broader in the long irons and narrower in the short irons to improve contact and score. The Iron is a set of super-game-improving irons that lives up to its moniker. These irons soar effortlessly into the stratosphere.

It has an exclusive design that widens as the clubs grow longer, allowing them to virtually “float” above the grass, helping to avoid unsightly chunks and accidental divot-digging.

Wilson’s research indicates that LaunchPad improved testers’ accuracy by 26%, decreased heavy hits by 74%, and increased ball speed and distance by 5mph and 9.8 yards. And, shockingly, stats show that even mid-handicappers hit 13 percent of shots fat or heavy, eroding golfers’ carry distance by an average of ten yards.

The irons aren’t going to hit the ball or rescue a feeble swing, particularly in wet circumstances. Still, the margin for error on strike is considerably more significant with irons like this. So, if you’re a beginner or a high handicapper, it’s absolutely worth considering.

What I Like:

  • Impressive accuracy and carry distance.
  • The broad sole certainly aids in ground-first contact.
  • Consistent outcomes across the face
  • Contribute to the promotion of a draw shape.
  • Extremely simple to hit and produces a high-flying ball.

What I Don’t Like:

  • A firm with a distinct clicky sound.
  • Strange looks can turn them off.
